All About Chris

Born in '66 in the midst of "they think it's all over" and all that, I can remember man landing on the moon, wore high wasted flares in the 70’s; and went to skool in the 80’s.

I was given my first real camera in '78, and even now I still get a great buzz each and everytime I pick up my camera to make new pictures.

When I was younger I suppose the vast majority of photographs I would take were of the wilder places around Scotland and the Cumbrian Lakes.

Chris with Olley

It only came with age that I found the courage and opportunity to begin to photograph people with any degree of confidence. I suppose people skills are something that only comes with time and experience. Although I have always found that if you deal people the way you, yourself, would like to be dealt with then you won't go far wrong.

I have always had a very relaxed and informal style to my photography, I suppose that's just the kind of person I am. I find that if I am relaxed then those around me relax too and that all makes for better photographs.

One of the great joys of photography, for me, is the vast variety of people you get to meet and work with. Since turning professional in 2006 I have worked with thousands of individuals and groups, each and everyone unique and special in there own way. You never know it might be you next.

Thanks for taking the time to read the boring bit and I hope you enjoy looking around the site. If there's anything you'd like to know or ask then please feel free to get in touch. My details are on the contact page.
